The Wohlschlag Bay is a large bay between the Harrison Bluff and Cape Royds on west side of the Antarctic Ross Island .
It was first mapped by participants in the Discovery Expedition (1901-1904) under the direction of the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott . However, it was only named in 1964 by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names after Donald E. Wohlschlag, a biologist at Stanford University , who had equipped the laboratories on board the research vessel USNS Eltanin and on the McMurdo station .
