Wolf Nice

Wolf Netter (* 1783 in Bühl (Baden) ; † November 20, 1859 there ) was a German businessman and namesake of the company Wolf Netter & Jacobi .

Live and act

Netter came from the branch of a Jewish family also resident in France and England, which has been documented in Bühl since the 18th century. Around 1800 he began a successful trade in scrap iron and later also with iron bands, which he bought in Strasbourg and sold to cooper in the Grand Duchy of Baden .

In 1833 his sons Jacob and Joseph joined the company. This year is considered to be the founding year of the company trading as Wolf Netter & Jacobi from 1873 . Together they expanded it into a leading iron wholesaler and manufacturer of iron and steel products. In 1853 a branch was opened on the market square in Ludwigshafen .

In 1857, Wolf Netter sold his shares to his sons for 40,000 guilders, who jointly continued the company.
