action
Shortly before the start of the concert, the conductor and composer Werner has three main problems: Arne, the orchestra's first violinist, is wrongly dressed, Gert, who plays the tuba, is not there and his mother sits impatiently waiting in the sparse audience. It turns out that Gert has climbed the tower of the concert hall and actually prefers to play the violin. In the conversation between Werner and Gert it becomes clear that both are mothers' boys who have not yet had a love affair in their life. But Werner's mother persistently interrupts the conversation and keeps calling Werner Wolfgang. She is about to faint. Werner now asks why she is actually calling him Wolfgang. She replies that after all, one has never heard of a composer named Werner, and begins a long speech about her services to her son's life. These statements convince Gert to play. When everyone has gathered in the concert hall and the performance is about to begin, Werner discovers that his mother has died. Relieved, he leaves the hall, only to meet his maternal grandmother and entourage in the foyer, who greets him with Wolfgang from afar .
