Wolfgang Boehm (politician)

Wolfgang Boehm (born September 15, 1908 in Pettau , Austria-Hungary , † August 18, 1974 in Pforzheim ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Wolfgang Boehm joined the Reichsbanner Schwarz-Rot-Gold in 1925 and the SPD in 1930. He attended the German advanced school in Gotha and passed the Abitur there in 1931 . He then studied at the Universities of Halle , Frankfurt and Berlin Economics . In 1936 he graduated with a degree in economics and received his doctorate in 1938 as Dr. rer. pole. Boehm became a career counselor in Cottbus in 1939 and joined the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP) in 1940 . In 1941 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht and in 1945 was taken prisoner by the Americans .

After World War II , Boehm was released from captivity in the Soviet Occupation Zone (SBZ) in 1947 . He worked as a speaker at the Berlin City Library . In 1950 he moved to West Berlin and rejoined the SPD the following year. He became a career counselor again. From 1956 to 1958 and from 1962 he was a district councilor in the Spandau district . Since Friedrich Borges was elected to the district councilor in Spandau, Boehm moved to the Berlin House of Representatives in February 1965 . Until 1971 he was a member of parliament.
