Wolfgang Bonß (born February 25, 1952 in Hagen , Westphalia) is a German sociologist .

After graduating from high school (1970) in Ahlen , Bonß studied sociology , political science , German , history and law at the University of Munich until 1976 and graduated in 1975 with the state examination for teaching at grammar schools in Bavaria. In 1976 he also obtained a diploma in sociology. From 1976 to 1981 he was a research assistant at the University of Munich and a scholarship holder at the Max Planck Institute for research into the living conditions of the scientific and technical world in Starnberg . Bonß received his doctorate in 1981 from Bielefeld University . From 1981 to 1986 he was a research assistant at the University of Bamberg , from 1986 to 1994 research assistant and member of the institute management (until 1991) at the Hamburg Institute for Social Research . In 1995 Bonß completed his habilitation in general sociology at the University of Bremen . Since 1995 he has been professor of general sociology at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich .
