Wolfgang Ebel-Zepezauer

Wolfgang Ebel-Zepezauer (* 1962 as Wolfgang Ebel ) is a German prehistorian .

Life

From 1982 to 1989 he studied prehistory , classical philology , history and classical archeology in Marburg . After completing his doctorate in 1988, The Roman Burial Mounds of the First Century in the Trever area and working on the Alteburg research project , he was a research assistant in Bochum from 1989 to 1995 . After his habilitation in 1996, studies on the archeology of the Visigoths from 5th to 7th In the 17th century , he worked for the preservation of monuments in Detmold in 1996 . He worked at the excavations in Oberaden (1998–1999) and at the Roman camp at Beckinghausen (1997). From 2000 to 2003 he headed the Kreskenhof project . Since October 2003 he has been a research assistant at the Ruhr University Bochum , temporarily acting as a professor. He headed the Antiquities Commission for Westphalia from 2005 to 2014 as a board member.

His work focuses on the Roman imperial period and archeology of the early Middle Ages .
