Wolfgang Ehlers (born June 19, 1953 in Wittenburg ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

After graduating from high school in Hagenow in 1972, Ehlers studied transport and business administration in Dresden from 1972 to 1976 and graduated with a degree in engineering and economics .

In the 1990 Volkskammer election , Ehlers succeeded in entering the first and last freely elected People's Chamber in the GDR . After the dissolution, he moved into the German Bundestag . In the Bundestag election in 1990 he won the direct mandate in the Bundestag constituency Schwerin - Hagenow and was able to hold his mandate until 1994.

Since 1993 Ehlers has been a member of the federal executive committee of the East and Central German Association of the CDU / CSU. There he became chairman of the Schwerin district association in 1996 and chairman of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania regional association in 1997 . Since 1997 he has also been the representative of the CDU Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Since 2011 Ehlers has been chairman of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania regional group of the Pomeranian Landsmannschaft .
