Wolfgang Götzinger (born June 11, 1944 in Hatzendorf ; † May 14, 2015 in Schwaz ) was an Austrian sculptor , painter and restorer .

The son of Hermine and Otto Götzinger grew up in Vienna and studied with Joannis Avramidis (sculpture), Helmut Kortan (restoration) and Andersen (painting) , among others . His scholarship in Rome in 1969, various study trips to Europe, especially Italy and France, expanded his skills. His grandfather Hans Götzinger also enriched his work. Sculpture became the focus of his artistic work. Exhibition activities at home and abroad, as well as orders for public spaces followed. In the later years painting gained increasing importance again.

As a restorer, he mainly carried out orders in Tyrol such as the restoration of the Romanesque and Gothic frescoes in St. Magdalena in the Gschnitztal (1970/1971). His main work was the restoration of the cloister frescoes from around 1520 in the Franciscan monastery in Schwaz (1980 to 1997). His painting Looking away can be found in the arcades of the city park in Schwaz .
