Wolfgang Hahn (born August 4, 1948 in Maschen , Lower Saxony ) is a German journalist , presenter and speaker for the NDR in Hamburg . He has been retired since October 1st, 2008.

Life

After graduating from the Friedrich-Ebert-Gymnasium in Hamburg-Heimfeld , Wolfgang Hahn learned his journalistic craft at the German School of Journalism in Munich. As part of his apprenticeship, Hahn volunteered in the film editorial team of Tagesschau and the youth radio of Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) . After completing his training, Wolfgang Hahn worked for a year as an editor in the research department of stern . At the same time he took speaking lessons on the recommendation of the then Tagesschau chief spokesman Karl-Heinz Köpcke .

From December 1970 he read news on the NDR 2 radio program as a freelancer . He also worked as a television reporter for NDR television (Nordschau Friday magazine). From 1971 until his permanent position at NDR radio in 1973, Hahn was also an off-speaker for the Tagesschau .

In 1973 ZDF hired him as a reporter and presenter for a six-part music program from the Hamburg factory (songs in other words) , in which young songwriters like Konstantin Wecker , André Heller and Georg Danzer were introduced at the time. From 1971 to 1995 Hahn worked as a presenter at NDR 2 for programs such as NDR 2 in the morning , Espresso , Traumhaft and the contact program he developed, The Hot Wire . In 1975 he was temporarily suspended by program director Wolfgang Jäger after a CDU member of the Bundestag complained about Hahn's quotations from Erich Kästner .

During this time, Wolfgang Hahn also studied psychology and social education at the University of Hamburg in his spare time . After completing his intermediate diploma, he broke off his studies and worked for many years as a voluntary consultant at the Magnus Hirschfeld Center in Hamburg, among others.

From 1989 to 1993 Wolfgang Hahn was Lutz Ackermann's deputy as NDR 2 music director. In 1995 Hahn became music director of NDR 4 (today: NDR Info ).

In 1998 Wolfgang Hahn switched to NDR television, where he was initially editor-in-chief of Herman and Tietjen and in the same year music director of the current showroom . At the end of 2001 Hahn became an editor in the foreign editorial office of NDR television, where he worked until his retirement in 2008. From 2005 to 2008 he also presented the weekly music program Golden Memories on the NDR 90.3 radio program.

Wolfgang Hahn is single and lives in Hamburg-Lokstedt .
