Wolfgang Huschke

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Albert Otto Wolfgang Huschke ( May 8, 1911 in Greiz - November 7, 2000 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German regional historian and archivist in Weimar .

He comes from a family that provided personal physicians to the Grand Dukes of Saxony-Weimar-Eisenach during the Goethe era and afterwards, or whose members were medical professors at the University of Jena. These include Wilhelm Ernst Christian Huschke , Johann Friedrich Karl Huschke and Emil Huschke . The music writer and lawyer Konrad Huschke , also from Greiz, is buried in the family grave in Weimar, which clarifies the archivist's relationship to this family. Wolfgang Huschke is likely to have been Konrad Huschke's first-born son. The correspondence of the well-known zoologist Ernst Haeckel also shows that the Huschke and Haeckel families are related to one another. The musicologist Wolfram Huschke is Wolfgang Huschke's son. The cellist Wolfram Huschke also comes from this family.

Huschke was a student of Willy Flach . Wolfgang Huschke was temporarily active in the archives of Bad Sulza and Dresden , where he was awarded the title of State Archives Councilor. He left the GDR for the west in the early 1960s . Further stations took him to Darmstadt and ultimately to Brühl .

He excelled with the edition of the council lists and the new citizens of Weimar. There is also a basic representation of the Ilmpark by him that is still basic today .
