The group of
companies founded by Wolfgang Huss

After the Heinrich Vogel Verlag was sold to Bertelsmann , Wolfgang Huss founded his own publishing house in January 1975, HUSS-VERLAG - specialist publisher for transport - in Munich-Schwabing. The company experienced an upswing with the organizational tools he had newly developed. From 1975 he published a newsletter and from 1976 the first advertising medium "huss-kontakt". The first trade journal was "taxi heute" in 1977 and "Logistik heute" in 1979. In 2017, the HUSS-VERLAG portfolio consisted of eight periodical trade journals. In 1983, Huss took over the SPD's own printing company, BAVARIA-DRUCK, and gradually expanded it into a profitable company. The EUROCARGO congress that Huss launched in 1989 with an associated trade fair became LogiMAT in 2003 - the international trade fair for intralogistics solutions and process management.

After the fall of the Wall in 1991, after negotiations with the Treuhand, Wolfgang Huss took over four East Berlin specialist publishers: Verlag Technik , Verlag Bauwesen , Verlag Die Wirtschaft and Verlag Rewi (former state publisher of the GDR) and later merged them into HUSS-MEDIEN GmbH . With this takeover, the group of companies expanded by 170 employees, 28 magazines and 1,000 book titles available for delivery. Since 2008 - due to several sports accidents - Wolfgang Huss has gradually withdrawn from the operative business for the publishing division "Communication and Knowledge" of the Huss group of companies and handed over the management of the business to his son, Christoph Huss (* 1975).
