Wolfgang Krüger (athlete)

Wolfgang Krüger (born January 1, 1947 ) is a former German long-distance runner who had his greatest successes in the marathon .

After he had given up at the World Cross Country Championships in 1973 in Waregem, he came the following year at the World Cross Country Championships in Monza on the 62nd place.

In 1975 he was German runner-up over 10,000 meters , and in 1976 he won the Husum winter marathon in 2:22:26 h.

In 1984 he was second in the Berlin Marathon in 2:13:43 h, in 1985 third in the Houston Marathon in 2:11:55 h, and in 1986 he won the title in the German Marathon Championships in 2:15:20 h.

Wolfgang Krüger started for the LBV Phönix Lübeck, the ETSV Gut Heil Neumünster and the Lübeck sports club Gut Heil from 1876.
