Wolfgang Link (born March 22, 1968 ) is a German media manager and has been a board member of ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE since the end of March 2020 . As chairman of the management board, he has been responsible for all German TV stations of the ProSiebenSat.1 Media Group ( ProSiebenSat.1 TV Deutschland GmbH ) since October 2013 .

He is not to be confused with a namesake who was Executive Producer at the Cologne-based production company I & u TV until 2013 .

Career

Following his studies (communication, art and psychology), Link was initially responsible for various musical and live productions as a production assistant and artistic production manager. From 1999 to 2002 he was theater director at the Theatro Centro in Oberhausen, where he produced musicals such as Peter Maffay'sTabaluga und Lilli ”.

Since 2003 he has been responsible for Grundy Light Entertainment as a producer and executive producer, among others for Deutschland sucht den Superstar .

In June 2009 he became head of entertainment at SAT.1 and introduced formats such as The Voice of Germany . Since 2011, he has been responsible for all entertainment formats of the German broadcasting group as Senior Vice President .

In 2012, Link moved up to the management of the individual broadcaster Pro7 as the successor to Jürgen Hörner (1965), who concentrated on managing the entire group. During this time, Stefan Raab created the absolute majority and quiz boxes . Further new formats such as Got to Dance and Catch the Millionaire followed under Links Aegis the following year, in 2013 he guided Joko and Klaas from ZDF to Pro7, where they could be seen with their program Circus HalliGalli until 2017.

In 2013, he also took over Hörner's responsibility as Group Managing Director, Hörner left the company and founded a production company. ProSiebenSat.1 Media CEO Thomas Ebeling praised Link as "without a doubt one of the most prominent and creative television producers in Germany".
