Wolfgang Preissler

Wolfgang Preissler (* 1932 in Freital , Saxony; also written Preißler ) is a German musician and composer.

Preissler is a solo timpanist , drummer and marimba soloist. As a former member of the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra , he has the title of chamber virtuoso . In 1978, in the course of Tilo Medek's expatriation, he was “released from the citizenship of the GDR”. After that he was a member of the Philharmonia Hungarica for over 20 years and worked a. a. with the Berlin Philharmonic and the Collegium Aureum .

Wolfgang Preissler is also known as a composer of radio plays and film music, as well as the author of music books and teaching books for percussion instruments. So far he has composed over 90 music for radio plays. He is the father of the musician Thomas Preissler .
