Wolfgang Steinert

Wolfgang Gerhard Herbert Steinert (born May 8, 1940 in Greifswald ; † April 22, 2010 ) was a German electrical engineer .

After studying at the RWTH Aachen and the TH Darmstadt , he worked for the Association of German Electrical Engineers from 1968 to 2000 . From 1971 to 1993 he headed the laboratory for radio interference measurements in Offenbach as a test engineer (including awarding of the radio protection mark according to Post-AmtsblVfg 171/1967; implementation of the implementation law of the EC radio interference guidelines from 1978). From 1993 to 2000 he acted as a “responsible body” within the meaning of the EMC Act of 1992, mediating between the rules of the European and German authorities ( BAPT / RegTP ) and the desire of the manufacturers of electrical devices for reliable market access. He was also active in standardization bodies (including DKE / K 761; German spokesman for CISPR / A).

Wolfgang Steinert had been married since 1970 and had a son. In 2010 he died of colon cancer .
