Wolfgang Storch (born May 7, 1935 in Dresden ) is a German film and theater director.

After graduating from high school in Dresden, Storch volunteered at the Sächsisches Tageblatt and, after completing his training, studied theater studies in East Berlin, at the Free University of Berlin in West Berlin and at the American universities of Stanford and Berkeley . There he directed the theater and made short films for the National Educational Television Network. He then spent several years in Australia as a director for the Australian Broadcasting Commission . Storch has been working as a film and theater director in Germany since 1973.

Storch's Australian film What for, Mary Anne? was awarded the Prix ​​Italia at the Venice Biennale . In Germany he made numerous television films from 1973, especially crime films . He directed film adaptations of Patricia Highsmith's novels, some episodes of the Tatort series and other series on ARD and ZDF . He did theater work at the Berlin Schaubühne .
