Wolfgang Windfuhr (born June 28, 1936 in Lüdenscheid ; † September 10, 2018 ) was a German educator and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school and graduating from high school in Lüdenscheid, Windfuhr began studying German, history, philology and pedagogy in Marburg and Bonn , which he completed with two state exams for higher teaching post. He then entered the school service and worked as a high school teacher at the Goethe School in Kassel .

Windfuhr was a member of the supervisory board of documenta GmbH Kassel from 1974 to 1997 . In 1990 he became managing director of the State Association of Hesse in the Federal Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry . He also served as President of the Brothers Grimm Society from 1997 to 2006 .

Political party

Windfuhr was a member of the CDU.

MP

Windfuhr was a council member of the city of Kassel from 1968 to 1993 and was temporarily chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. From 1974 to 1991 he was a member of the Hessian state parliament , where he mainly dealt with cultural policy.

Public offices

In 1993, Windfuhr became a member of the city council of Kassel as a city councilor.
