Later he also took piano lessons, but from the age of twelve he devoted himself increasingly to the electric bass and jazz and pop music . At the age of 16 he switched from the violin to the double bass at the conservatory , whereby his musical knowledge was expanded through private lessons and contacts with the jazz department of the Graz University of Music . He completed his studies in instrumental (vocal) education (IGP) for jazz and pop music at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz from 1993 with distinction. He then began a master's degree at the Vienna University of Music, but dropped out after three years for family reasons.

In the course of his life he played for various bands and was featured on various albums and other CD productions. He was a member of the band Opus from 1990 until his early death in 2008. For a longer period of time he was also the electric bass player at STS , to which he belonged from 1996 to 2008. He had other larger collaborations with Papermoon , Gerd Schuller , Armenian Spirit , the backing band of Rainhard Fendrich and various other bands and musicians. There were also joint concerts with Mark Murphy and Karl Ratzer . He also worked on his own projects such as Absolutely Red , Die Geilen Schwein and Quinteto Caribe , where he was responsible for compositions and arrangements .

He also appeared as a teacher at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and at the Johann-Joseph-Fux-Conservatory Graz and was among other things a teacher for the electric bass at the music school of Bärnbach from 1992 to 2001 . He also worked at the private school "Studio Percussion" and from March 2004 taught electric bass at the Jazz Institute of the Graz University of Art. At this very institution he also directed the popular music ensemble.
