Wolfram Malte Fues

Wolfram Malte Fues (born April 6, 1944 in Bremen ) is a German-Swiss Germanist , university professor and poet .

Life

Fues grew up in Wuppertal . He has lived in Switzerland since 1965; In 1980 he was naturalized. Fues studied German , philosophy , history and European folk literature at the University of Zurich and received his doctorate there in 1978. In 1987 he completed his habilitation at the University of Basel and was appointed professor for modern German literature there in 1995 . Fues worked on the German novel from the Enlightenment to the present, on the discourse of the gender difference in the German Enlightenment, on classical and modern aesthetics, on postmodernism , on new media and on philosophy of science . Since the early 1990s he has also published his own poems; he is also a juror in this area.
