The Wolgan River is a river in the east of the Australian state of New South Wales .

It arises from the Wolgan River West Branch and the Wolgan River East Branch in the Gardens of Stone National Park at 558 m. From there, the Wolgan River flows east, where it passes the former mining town of Newnes in Wollemi National Park . Finally , after around 40 kilometers , it flows into the Capertee River , a source river of the Colo River , at a height of 178 m .
