WorkPLAN is an ERP solution (consisting of the two variants WorkPLAN Enterprise and MyWorkPLAN ), which was developed by the French company Sescoi for individual manufacturers or project-oriented departments that need a specialized ERP solution.
The typical users of these ERP solutions come from the following industries: automotive , aerospace and defense , engineering offices , mechanical engineering , toolmaking and mold making .
history
The first version of the WorkPLAN ERP solution was developed in 1992. Version 12, released in 2006, is the final version of this original system.
Since 2003, Sescoi has been developing a new generation of WorkPLAN ERP, which were developed as two complementary products. The first of these products is MyWorkPLAN, a modular ERP system for project management that was released in 2006. The second product is WorkPLAN Enterprise, a complete ERP software for make-to-order manufacturers, tool and mold makers and design departments, which was released in 2008. Both products use MySQL to operate the database and have a modern user interface with a navigation tree, as is also used in CAD systems.
Version 3 of MyWorkPLAN and WorkPLAN Enterprise was released in 2009. Both products have been SAP certified since November 25, 2009.
Version 4 was launched at the EuroMold show at Messe Frankfurt in December 2010. This version contains new tools for customer relationship management (CRM) and a combination of detailed and simplified planning methods . It also contains an updated user interface , a new way of accessing the system via the Internet and new functions for the management of lot production .
Functions
The WorkPLAN ERP solution allows companies or departments to automate and manage the most important elements of their activities, such as project costs, offers, orders, planning, document management, analysis of 3D CAD files, parts lists, quality, Control of times and attendance with the touchscreen, recording of actual times, orders, warehouse management, key figures, overview of finances and strategic analyzes.
Differences to other ERP systems
WorkPLAN, WorkPLAN Enterprise and MyWorkPLAN were developed from the start for the special requirements in tool and mold making. This means that CAD and CAM projects can be analyzed directly from the system , which are then incorporated into the offer planning as technical criteria. The strong interlinking with WorkNC and WorkNC-CAD offers the possibility of analyzing the complexity of a component in addition to the pure viewing of CAD and CAM projects.
Interfaces with other systems
According to the “SAP Integration and Certification Center” (SAP ICC), WorkPLAN has been integrated with the SAP ERP application using the SAP integration scenario “Plant Data Collection - Shop Floor Control” (PP-PDC 4.6) since 2010. WorkPLAN Enterprise and MyWorkPLAN also have interfaces for the following software:
- MS Office , MS Project and Open Office
- Accounting systems ( Sage , Quickbooks, Datev , Cegid , EBP , Varial, etc.)
- Payroll systems
- Other ERP products ( SAP , Navision , etc.)
- CAM software ( WorkNC )
- CAD and PLM software for importing parts lists ( VisiCAD , Think3 , TopSolid , AutoCAD , Cimatron , ProEngineer , Unigraphics etc.)
- CAD / CAM software for the analysis of CAD files ( STEP , IGES , CATIA V4 & V5, Unigraphics , SolidWorks , SolidEdge , Pro / E, Parasolid , STL etc.) with the option of using WorkXPlore 3D
- Advanced Planning Systems ( APS ) ( Ortems and Preactor )
- CRM software (Sage Vente partner etc.)
- Production systems, using XML agent
technology
The first version of the ERP solution WorkPLAN was developed with the Unify VISION programming language and used Unify DataServer from Unify Corporation to operate the database.
The two new products, MyWorkPLAN and WorkPLAN Enterprise, were developed with PowerBuilder , Delphi and C ++ , and use MySQL to run the database. Both products contain the technology of the US company Tom Sawyer for the graphic creation and representation of the links between the tasks.
