The World Ninepin Bowling Association was formed in 1973 in London by the Fédération Internationale des Quilleurs, founded in Hamburg in 1952 , to give the disciplines of Ninepin Bowling (WNBA) and Tenpin Bowling (WTBA) a more effective form of organization. In 2015, the umbrella organization for bowling and bowling was restructured, the Federation Internationale des Quilleurs and the World Tenpin Bowling Association merged to form World Bowling , and the WNBA has been an affiliate association since then.
The WNBA has a potential of approx. 250,000 members, which are spread over 26 countries in three continents ( Europe , South America and Asia ). The WNBA organizes world and continental championships for all age groups. International competitions take place regularly.
history
The association has three sections due to different types of railways:
- Classic (NBC)
- Scissors (NBS)
- National (NBN) for national skittles not covered by NBC and NBN
The sections organize world and continental championships of all ages as well as world and continental competitions for individuals and teams. In addition, there are regular international matches and other international competitions.
Over the centuries, ninepin bowling has developed into a recognized competitive sport that requires high levels of technical skills and fitness. But the purely playful element still attracts many amateur and recreational athletes to the bowling alleys.
While the pins were set up by hand until around 50 years ago, today microprocessors control ultra-modern pin setting machines and picture displays. Wooden cones and wooden balls have become plastic ones. Today, wooden or plastic running surfaces are used for Bohle- and Schere- railways, and for Classic railways only plastic running surfaces, with a synthetic surface or in segment plate construction.
Bowling facilities that are to be suitable for sports must have been built in accordance with the specifications of the technical regulations of the WNBA and have been subjected to an acceptance test by the responsible sections or national bowling associations. This guarantees that sporting competitions can be carried out under uniform conditions worldwide. Pinpoint machines, running surfaces, pins and balls must go through a test procedure before they can be used in international sports in order to receive approval from the WNBA. These approvals are binding for all national bowling associations.
Position within the World Bowling
The World Ninepin Bowling Association is an independent body in the Fédération Internationale des Quilleurs . The aim of the WNBA is to support all national bowling associations that practice bowling "ninepin" or in another form in the broadest sense as a competitive sport. The WNBA has the status of a discipline association and is therefore an independent body within the FIQ . It carries out other tasks assigned by the FIQ; she organizes and represents the ninepin bowling sport for the FIQ.
tasks
- To establish connections with national associations that practice bowling in the broadest sense as a competitive sport in order to win them over as full members of the FIQ and WNBA or as extraordinary members of the WNBA.
- the cone sport ninepin to promote at all levels in the world by international championships by team and individual competitions and international matches between the member associations and other sporting encounters.
- to organize international competitions themselves and to oblige the sections of the WNBA to hold international competitions in their field.
- Ensuring the uniform implementation of sports and refereeing in the WNBA through the publication of regulations by the WNBA and its sections and to enable a uniform game system for the implementation of games in the WNBA and its sections as well as the member associations. The sections regulate the sport.
- To ensure the uniformity of the technical regulations for bowling equipment and bowling alleys required for sports operations, including the approval regulations in the WNBA and in all member associations of the WNBA and its sections by issuing technical regulations. This means that the same conditions should be given for the implementation of the entire sporting activity in the WNBA and its sections as well as the member associations.
- To ensure compliance with the statutes and regulations of the WNBA and the sections as well as the resolutions of the FIQ by the sections of the WNBA.
- To advise all members, the FIQ and the sections of the WNBA on ninepin bowling, to provide information and to convey information.
- Construction and operation of ninepin bowling facilities.
Sections
For each type of track approved in the WNBA - classic, scissors and national - a disciplinary association is formed. This has the legal status of a section. These disciplinary associations are legally independent legal entities with their own statutes. The structures of the full members of the WNBA remain unaffected by this regulation.
