Most of the farms in the Doren area are very scattered and easy to manage . Since the farmers in Doren are sometimes also active in forestry , agriculture and forestry in Doren are also an important economic factor. The proportion of agricultural land in the total area is 48.9%.

The Doren football club was founded in 1978. Until the 2005/2006 season, FC Doren played as an independent club in the Bregenzerwald League, the 2nd national class and the 3rd national class. Due to the low birth rate, the club's management had to decide to merge with FC Sulzberg in 2006. After 4 years of working together, the two clubs have decided to go their separate ways again. The FC Doren had to start again in the last league, i.e. the 5th national treasury. After four promotions in 5 years, the club plays in the first national class for the 2016/2017 season. In 2014, the Spengerlei und Dachdeckerei Manfred Baldauf joined the association as the main sponsor. Henceforth the club is called FC Baldauf Doren. The youth soccer teams of the communities of Doren, Sulzberg and Langen are brought together in the Rotachtal youth soccer center.
