Worlds Apart is the fourth studio album by the Texan band ... And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead . It was recorded during 2004 and released on January 24, 2005 through Interscope Records .

Although the album reached the top 100 of the British and US album charts, it was not a commercial success compared to the previous album Source Tags & Codes , which sold around twice as well.

Reviews

The album was received very differently by the critics. While the German music magazine Visions Worlds Apart was named album of the year 2005, Pitchfork Media only gave it 4.0 out of 10 points. Allmusic and the English-language Rolling Stone each gave 3.5 out of 5 points.

Artwork

The artwork of the album is drawn by the singer Conrad Keely himself and shows a great historical battle and an artistically designed lettering of the band name. In an interview, Keely said of the artwork: “ I wanted an allegory depicting the history of human conflict. ”(German:“ I wanted an allegory that depicts the history of human conflicts. ”).
