Wu Wen-Chien
Wu Wen-Chien ( Chinese 吳 文 騫 , Pinyin Wú Wénqiān ; born June 9, 1977 ) is a Taiwanese long-distance and obstacle runner .
In 2001 he won bronze at the East Asian Games in both the 5000 m and 3000 m obstacles. At the Asian Championships he was fifth over 3000 m obstacle in 2002 and won silver in 2003.
In 2003 he retired from the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Birmingham over 3000 m in the preliminary run and won the Taipei International Marathon . The following year he was Asian indoor champion over 3000 m after it turned out that the first-placed Mushir Salem Jawher was not yet eligible for Bahrain. With a seventh place in the Beppu-Ōita marathon , Wu qualified for the marathon of the Olympic Games in Athens , in which he came in 56th place.
In 2005 he won bronze over 5000 m and 3000 m obstacle at the Asian Championships and bronze over 3000 m obstacle at the East Asian Games.
In 2008, after a tenth place in the Xiamen Marathon, he was nominated for his second Olympic marathon at the Beijing Games , where he finished 59th. At the end of the year, he finished fifth in the Taipei International Marathon.
