history
The first written mention of Wulmstorf was in 1200 as "Vulmestorpe", with Kuhlenkamp in 1511, Wackershausen in 1703 and Neu-Wulmstorf in 1801. Wulmstorf also owned two estates in the 16th and 17th centuries due to the fertile lowlands of the Weser and the good arable land on the edge of the valley sand terrace. Around 1800 the Halbmeierhöfe and Handkötner were added to the estates.
Until 1852 Morsum, Beppen and Wulmstorf belonged to the West-Thedinghausen office and from 1864 to the Verden office. Ahsen-Oetzen becomes Braunschweig with the peace treaty of Celle 1679/81 together with the other localities of the Thedinghausen office. From January 1, 1966, the place belonged to the former "small joint community Thedinghausen". On July 1, 1972, the municipalities Ahsen-Oetzen, Morsum, Beppen and Wulmstorf were merged into the new municipality of Morsum through the law on the reorganization of the municipalities in the Verden area. Since November 1, 2006, Morsum and Thedinghausen have formed the new, enlarged municipality of Thedinghausen. Since then, Wulmstorf has been one of 13 districts in the Thedinghausen community.
In 2008, Wulmstorf took 3rd place in the district competition " Our village has a future ".
