Wuttichai Masuk ( Thai วุฒิ ชัย มา สุข ; born March 16, 1990 in Buri Ram (province) ) is a Thai light welterweight amateur boxer .

Boxing career

Wuttichai is one of the best boxers in Asia. He won the 2009 Asian Championships in Zhuhai , the 2013 Southeast Asian Games in Naypyidaw , the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon , the 2015 Southeast Asian Games in Singapore , the 2015 Asian Championships in Bangkok and the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur . He also won a bronze medal at the Southeast Asian Games in Vientiane in 2009, a bronze medal at the Asian Games in Guangzhou in 2010 and a bronze medal at the Asian Games in Jakarta in 2018 .

He also boxed for the Bangkok Elephants in the World Series of Boxing and won international tournaments in Thailand, Kazakhstan and Taiwan. At world championships he could not reach the medal ranks until 2015. He lost to David Joyce in Milan in 2009 , to Zdeněk Chládek in Baku in 2011 and to Evaldas Petrauskas in Almaty in 2013 .

At the 2015 World Championships in Doha , he finally won a bronze medal after only being eliminated in the semifinals against Fazliddin Gʻoibnazarov . He also qualified for the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil, where he was eliminated in the round of 16 against Gary Antuanne Russell.

At the 2019 World Championships in Yekaterinburg , he was eliminated from Abylaichan Shuissipov before reaching the medal ranks .
