Xing Huina

Xing Huina ( Chinese  邢慧娜 , Pinyin Xíng Huìnà ; born February 25, 1984 in Weifang ) is a former Chinese long-distance runner and Olympic champion in the 10,000-meter run .

biography

Xing grew up in a farming family in Shandong Province . She started her athletics training at the sports school in Weifang. In 1999, she joined the Shandong Province Technical Institute team. In 2002 she won the bronze medal over 10,000 meters at the Asian Games , and at the 2003 World Championships in Paris / Saint-Denis she was seventh over the same distance, setting the current junior world record of 30: 31.55 minutes.

At the 10,000-meter run of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , Xing won the gold medal in the 10,000-meter run with her personal best of 30: 24.36 minutes, relegating Ethiopians Ejegayehu Dibaba and Derartu Tulu to their places in the final sprint. At the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki she finished fifth over 5000 meters in her personal best of 14: 43.64 minutes and fourth over 10,000 meters, both as the first non-Ethiopian woman.

Xing Huina was 1.66 m tall and had a competition weight of 50 kg. She was characterized by the unusual, not bent arm position while running.
