Yannick Steinkellner

Yannick Steinkellner (* 1992 in Wolfsberg ) is an Austrian author, lyric poet and slam poet .

In March 2013 Steinkellner took part in his first poetry slam , since then he has played numerous other slams, readings and appearances with his mostly lyrical works, some of which are also written in dialect . He is a multiple finalist of the Ö-Slam , the Austrian slam championships, won the first online slam in Austria and also took part in the German-language championships in 2014 in Dresden , 2015 in Augsburg , 2017 in Hanover , 2018 in Zurich and 2019 in Berlin part. In 2015 he won the state championship of Styria and Carinthia . Steinkellner is one of the busiest representatives of the Austrian slam scene. In 2014, alongside Mario Tomic, he was one of the founders of the cultural association Performte Literatur und Slam Steiermark ( PLuS for short ), and initiated the first U20 slam and various other literary events in Graz . He was a member of the reading stages " Violence is Not a Reading " and " The Baby is Optional " (with Jason Bartsch , Henrike Klehr and Johannes Floehr ). Today he gives workshops on the topics of creative writing and poetry slam throughout the German-speaking region . In autumn 2018 the first edition of bühnen.texte , a poetry slam magazine, whose publisher and founder is Steinkellner (together with Jean-Philippe Kindler , Jakob Kielgaß and Thomas Heinz), was published by Lektora-Verlag. The magazine appears every six months. With Christoph Steiner (alias MC Stoner ) he also moderates and organizes the Dead or Alive Slam in Next Liberty (since 2017) and the Best of Slam in the Graz Schauspielhaus (since 2019). He also appears as the organizer of the format Reading for Beer in Bochum and Graz.

He is a member of two slam teams. Together with Christoph Steiner he forms the slam team " Pauken & Poeten ", his collaboration with the poet Jule Weber is called " Lingitz & Puchert ". Together they reached the final of the German-language slam championships in Berlin in 2019.

Steinkellner currently lives and works in Bochum .
