Jean-Philippe Kindler (born July 17, 1996 in Duisburg ) is a German satirist, slam poet , author and presenter.

Act

Since 2016 he has been one of the most successful representatives of the poetry slam in German-speaking countries. In 2017 he won the largest German-speaking state championship in the Poetry Slam, the NRW Slam, at the Apollo Theater in Siegen . For this he had qualified as the annual winner of the largest monthly poetry slam in Germany, the Essen WestStadtStory in the Weststadthalle. At the dike fire , he won Europe's largest festival slam. He reached the finals in the Hanover State Opera when he took part in the Slam 2017 for the first time ; before that, he had received the in-house award for Best Newcomer . In 2018 he won the German-language championships in the poetry slam in Zurich. Together with Aylin Celik, he forms the team The Thoughts, they reached the semi-finals at the German-speaking slam championships .

In addition to his participation, Kindler is also the organizer and moderator of various cultural events, reading stages, PowerPoint karaoke , jazz slams, and he is also part of the Düsseldorf poetry battle . Since the end of 2018 he has moderated the Reim-in-Flammen Poetry Slam in Cologne every month. In 2015 he was nominated by Natascha Zuraw for the NaWuMo young talent moderation award announced by the Institute for Communication .

In 2018 his text collection Ein Stück Quiche in Krefeld-Fischeln was published by the Paderborn Lektora-Verlag . Together with Johannes Floehr he played the Kindler & Floehr program in 2018 . In addition, he is playing his first full-length solo program Mensch ärgere dich in over 50 cities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. In 2019, when he was nominated for a cabaret award for the first time, he received the St. Ingberter Pfanne youth jury award . In 2020 he won the golden Rostock cog puller .

Together with Christine Westermann he produces the podcast "Utopia", which was commissioned by WDR 5 and also accompanies the WDR Big Band Cologne as a presenter and poet in their annual series "Jazz @ School". Kindler regularly works in cultural-political contexts, for example for the Federal Agency for Civic Education , the Bavarian Teachers' Association , the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation , Attac and the NRW Cancer Society. Together with Jason Bartsch he produces the podcast "Die Integrationale".

On the occasion of the fire in the monkey house of the Krefeld Zoo , in which around fifty animals were killed, he and Johannes Floehr organized a short-term benefit event at the beginning of 2020 , at which the band Provinztheater and Torsten Sträter performed. For the event, they had also received criticism in the run-up to the social networks, as in addition to donations for the Krefeld Zoo they also collected money for the animal welfare association .

Jean-Philippe Kindler currently lives and works in Bochum.
