Yannick Vaugrenard (born June 25, 1950 in Trignac ) is a French politician ( Parti socialiste ). He was a member of the European Parliament .

Life

Vaugrenard attended the Aristide Briand Lyceum in Saint-Nazaire, where he graduated with a Baccalauréat économique . From 1971 to 1989 he worked for the Banque Nationale de Paris .

He was Deputy Mayor of Trignac from 1977 to 1989 and of Saint-Nazaire from 1995 to 2004 . The Council of the Canton of Montoir-de-Bretagne it belonged from 1982 to 1994 on, Regional Council of the Region Pays de la Loire , he from 1986 by 2011.

He was a member of the European Parliament (MEP) from 2004 to 2009. During his time as a MEP, he was a member of the Socialist Group in the European Parliament. His parliamentary activities included work in the Committee on Budgets , the Committee on Transport and Tourism and the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs .

With his election in September 2011 he became Senator of the Loire-Atlantique department .
