Yasmin Mei-Yee Weiß (born November 28, 1978, born Fargel in Bonn ) is a German personnel manager, professor of business administration with a focus on personnel and organization, as well as a member of the supervisory board and journalist .

Career

Yasmin Mei-Yee Fargel (since their wedding: Yasmin Mei-Yee Weiß) grew up in a German-Chinese family and attended renowned schools and universities in Germany and abroad. After completing her business studies, she received her doctorate in economics from the Catholic University of Eichstätt in 2004 .

From 2005 to 2006 she worked as a management consultant at Accenture in Munich on international consulting projects. From 2006 to 2014 she worked as HR manager for the BMW Group in various functions, including HR strategy and policy, strategic HR development and HR management for BMW China. Yasmin Mei-Yee Weiß has held a professorship for human resources and organization at the Technical University of Nuremberg since 2011 . In 2015, she was also appointed visiting professor at the Technical University of Berlin for diversity management . Her research activities relate to the optimization of German-Chinese cooperation as well as digital literacy and digital education. A special focus is on the topic of "Digital Talents and Digital Leadership", on which she is leading a comprehensive research project.

In addition to her professorship, Yasmin Mei-Yee Weiß works in the private sector as a supervisory and advisory board member and as an entrepreneur. Between December 2013 and March 2018 she was a member of the Supervisory Board of Semikron International . In 2017 she was appointed to the Advisory Board of the BLG Logistics Group and in July 2018 to the Supervisory Board of the Zeppelin Group . Since April 2019 she has also been a member of the Supervisory Board of Neue Bayerische Beamten Lebensversicherung AG . In 2018 she founded the social start-up Yoloa , which prepares young people for the opportunities of digitization and the job market 4.0. She is also the managing director of the Institute for German-Chinese Cooperation.

In 2014, Yasmin Mei-Yee Weiß was appointed to the Foreign Trade Advisory Council by the then Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, Sigmar Gabriel, and to the Federal Government's Innovation Steering Committee by Chancellor Merkel . In 2017, Federal Minister of Economics Brigitte Zypries was reappointed to the Foreign Trade Advisory Council. In 2018 she was appointed to the FDP Economic Forum .
