Yavi Hameister was born in Duisburg as the daughter of two Polish immigrants and lived in different parts of Germany until she stayed in Düsseldorf for eight years after graduating from the Waldorf School in Mülheim an der Ruhr to study German and art history . During this time she worked for various publishing houses, editorial offices and agencies and gained a foothold in the journalistic industry. During her studies, she spent a few months in South Africa and a year in China and other parts of Asia , worked in Beijing as a lecturer for German and economics , wrote for Handelsblatt Online and was the editor of an online medical magazine. After returning, she finished her German studies with a master's thesis on "Language manipulation in journalism", which was rated 1.0. She then took over the editor-in-chief of a renowned online fashion magazine for two years before moving to Scotland with her husband for two years .

Yavi Hameister became known when she shared her workouts and diet on Instagram and later on her blog during her first pregnancy in 2015 . At the same time, she trained as a fitness coach, pre- and postnatal trainer and nutritionist in order to be able to advise other women during and after pregnancy.

Yavi Hameister was one of the first public figures on the blogger / influencer scene to speak openly and enlighteningly about her obsession with beauty, her eating disorder, self-harm, addiction to sports and depression, and thus the topics of body and self love, the (health) dangers of Popular / accessible social media , false (female) role models and the diet cult. Her first book, Bis es wehtut (mvg 2018), deals with these and other psychological as well as personal, autobiographical topics and gives other women the courage in the context of their entire lives to accept themselves, to show themselves without retouching and to live a self-determined life.

The book made it just two weeks after publication in the mirror - bestseller list and was placed prominently for many months in the media and positive discussion.

In 2019, her guide Happy Hashimoto (mvg) appeared in collaboration with her doctor, Simone Koch. In this book she shares her experiences with the autoimmune disease and the effects on her everyday life with two young children and her work and, together with her co-author, gives treatment tips that go beyond traditional conventional medical therapy.
