The Yea River is a river in the middle of the Australian state of Victoria .
It rises at Mount Tanglefoot east of Toolangi and north of the Yarra Ranges National Park , flows north and flows into the Goulburn River near the town of Yea .
The river and town are named after Colonel Lacy Walter Yea , a British Army officer who died in the Crimean War in 1855 . That year the city of Yea was founded.
