The Wiehl Penguins (TuS Wiehl ESC) are a sledge ice hockey team from Wiehl that has been playing in the German Sledge Ice Hockey League since 2008 . Between 2005 and 2008 the Yetis formed a syndicate with the Kamen Barbarians , who participated in the league as SG Kamen / Wiehl .

history

In the 2002/03 season , the Yetis Wiehl became the first team in North Rhine-Westphalia to enter the DSL game. In the very first year they left the already established teams of the Cardinals Dresden and Bremer Pirates behind and took second place in the table behind series champion Hannover Scorpions . They were able to repeat this in the following year.

After a third place in the 2004/05 season , they founded a syndicate with the Kamen Barbarians in the 2005/06 season as SG Kamen / Wiehl. This syndicate became German champions of the 2007/08 season . After this success, the syndicate was dissolved, and both teams take part in the game independently again.
