With the inclusion of the Heidelberg Knights, the Bremen Pirates left the last place in the table for the first time after winning the two comparisons against Heidelberg. Heidelberg closed the first season beaten and without a win with only one goal in the bottom of the table. The Dresden Cardinals also provided a first in German sledge ice hockey with their 1-0 victory over the Hannover Scorpions on January 30, 2005. It was the first ever defeat for the series champion. However, because Dresden lost a game against Wiehl, the Lower Saxony secured their fifth title in a row, with the lead over the runner-up Dresden only two points.
