Season course

The Hannover Scorpions secured the German championship title for the seventh year in a row. The second defeat in the club's history in the second leg against runner-up Kamen Barbarians did not change anything, as they had already lost the first leg and a game against the Dresden Cardinals. Dresden took third place with a balanced record. They were followed by the Bremen Pirates in fourth place, but for the first time with a positive goal difference. The Heidelberg Knights landed again in fifth and last place.
