The five teams played the season in the league system . Each team played a total of eight times and thus twice against each other team. The season consisted of a total of 20 games. There were two points for a win, one for each team in the case of a draw.

Season course

As in the previous year , the course of the season was varied. Although the Hanover Scorpions secured the championship title for the sixth time and Heidelberg again finished last, but the teams from Kamen / Wiehl, Dresden and Bremen made for interesting results. The syndicate from Kamen / Wiehl wrestled the Hanoverians from a 3-3 draw in the first leg. It was the first tie in DSL history. However, a narrow 3-2 defeat in the second leg prevented them from winning their first title. The Bremen Pirates and the Cardinals Dresden landed in third and fourth place with equal points. Due to the better goal difference, Bremen achieved the best placement in DSL to date.
