history

Para-ice hockey, which has been a Paralympic discipline since 1994, developed in Sweden about 30 years ago . The first German team was not formed in Hanover until 1996, and there has also been a team in Dresden since 1998. The team of the Dresdner Eislöwen Sledge also includes some active, non-disabled players. Three of the players, Christian Pilz, Bernhard Hering and Robert Pabst, are also players on the para-ice hockey national team.

Between 2014 and 2016, the Cardinals team competed as the SG Preussen Sachsen syndicate with ECC Preussen Berlin to further establish para-ice hockey in the federal capital.

From 2017 to 2020, the team competed as the SG Dresden / Dachau syndicate with ESV Dachau to promote para-ice hockey in the Munich region. In 2020, this combined team including Czech guest players won the championship.
