Yoram Gross

Yoram Gross (born October 18, 1926 in Krakow , Poland ; † September 21, 2015 in Sydney , Australia ) was an Australian producer of children's and family films , whose best-known productions were the series Blinky Bill and the film Dot and the Kangaroo .

In 1944, when he was 18 years old, Yoram Gross and his parents were on Oskar Schindler's well-known list for a short time . Nevertheless, the Jew Gross and his parents managed to get out of occupied Poland on their own. He was hiding in no fewer than 72 hiding places. Yoram Gross Films was founded in 1962 by Yoram and Sandra Gross in Israel. After moving to Australia in 1968, they opened Yoram Gross Film Studios there in 1968 . In 1996 Yoram sold half of the company to the Australian media group Village Roadshow . As a result, the new company Yoram Gross-Village Roadshow was created . In 1999, half of Village Roadshows was bought by EM.TV and given the name Yoram Unfein-EM.TV . In 2006, Yoram Gross finally sold the other half of his company to EM.TV.

Today, the original Yoram Gross Films is known as Flying Bark Productions and continues to produce family-oriented entertainment.

Yoram Gross died on September 21, 2015 at the age of 88 in Sydney. He left behind his wife, two children and five grandchildren.
