The Zertus GmbH , based in Hamburg, was named Zuckerraffinerie Tangermünde Fr. Meyers Sohn GmbH until 2002 , is a German company for food and beverages .

history

Share over 1000 marks in the Tangermünde sugar refinery from December 1915

The origins of Zertus can be found in the Tangermünde sugar refinery founded in 1826 by Friedrich Theodor Meyer (1796–1884) in Tangermünde. Over the years, the Tangermünde sugar refinery, Fr. Meyer's son, developed from this. The Tangermünde sugar refinery was the largest in Europe until the end of the Second World War . In 1946 the company was expropriated and dismantled by the Soviet occupying forces . The reconstruction took place outside the sugar market. Until it was sold in 2000, the Tangermünde sugar refinery was primarily associated with the Feodora and Hachez chocolate brands , which ZRT had been producing since 1910 and 1953, respectively.

The subsequent focus was on the production and marketing of food and beverages. Today, Zertus is a diversified group of specialists and niche providers in the food and luxury goods sector.

In January 2012, the company headquarters moved from Harvestehuder Weg to the Astraturm (13th floor) built in 2007 on the site of the former Bavaria brewery in St. Pauli.

The managing directors of the Zertus Holding are Alessandra Cama (chairman) and Christian Diekmann; Markus Conrad has been the chairman of the supervisory board since 2017.
