Zacharias Sunday
Zacharias Sonntag ( January 1, 1683 , † February 7, 1738 in Darmstadt ) was a German painter .
Sonntag had been a painter in Darmstadt since at least 1714 and was appointed hunting and court painter to the court of Landgrave Ernst Ludwig in 1717 . He painted still lifes , landscapes (partly with hunting scenes), seascapes and wallpaper pictures. His son and student Johann Tobias Sonntag (1716–1774) also worked as a painter in Darmstadt.

- In the Darmstadt Castle Museum : a series of wallpaper images with hunting and nature scenes (formerly in the Mönchbruch hunting lodge , later in Wolfsgarten Castle ).
- In the Jagdschloss Kranichstein : Still life (groups of game birds); Landgrave Ernst Ludwig von Hessen-Darmstadt on a hunting trip and the same on a hunting trip.
