Zanthier (noble family)
Zanthier is the name of an old noble family from Anhalt , which first appears in a document in 1404 with Erhard Zcanthir .
history
The line of tribe begins with Andreas von Zanthier , who is proven in 1474 as a landlord on Prosigk ( Anhalt-Bitterfeld district , Saxony-Anhalt ). The previously suspected connection with the Zantyr Castle in Pomerania and with the Cunrat de Zantyr in Elbing ( Masuria , East Prussia ), which appeared in 1286 , has not been proven.
From 1797 the Pütnitz estate in Western Pomerania was owned by the family.
