Zarakoira

Zarakoira (also: Zara Koira , Zara Koiré , Zarakoiré , Zara Kouara ) is a village in the rural municipality of Gothèye in Niger .

The village, led by a traditional local chief ( chef traditionnel ), is located around five kilometers south of Gothèye, the capital of the rural municipality of the same name, which belongs to the Gothèye department in the Tillabéri region. Zarakoira is located on the right bank of the Niger River . The larger villages in the area include Sansané Haoussa in the northeast and Saya in the southeast.

Zarakoira was one of those places in what is now Niger, where after the fall of the Songhai Oak's 1591 in Songhai -Flüchtlinge under a descendant of the dynasty Askia settled.

At the 2012 census, Zarakoira had 751 inhabitants who lived in 110 households. At the 2001 census, the population was 622 in 76 households, and at the 1988 census, the population was 570 in 91 households.
