Zdeněk Měřínský
Zdeněk Měřínský (born January 16, 1948 in Jihlava ; † September 9, 2016 ) was a professor of Slavic archeology and head of the Institute of Archeology and Museum Studies of the Philosophical Faculty of Masaryk University in Brno .
Life
1967–1975 he studied ethnography and prehistory at the Masaryk University in Brno . 1974–1989 he worked at the Archaeological Institute in Brno of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences , 1989–1992 at the Moravian State Museum , from 1992 at the Historical Institute of the Masaryk University . He completed his habilitation in 1996 and from 1999 headed the Department of Archeology and Museum Studies at Masaryk University. In 2000 he was appointed Professor of Slavic Archeology by President Havel .
