The Christiana colliery is a former hard coal mine in Annen . The mine was also known under the names Zeche Christiane , Zeche Christiane Rechts Witten and Zeche Christian . The mine belonged to the Märkisches Bergamts district and there to the jury area Ostlich Witten .

Mining history

The mine was already in operation before the award , around 1785. A length field was awarded on May 25, 1789, and the mine continued to operate after the award. Around the year 1790 the mine was in deadlines set. From July 1841 the mine was back in operation. It was a seam with a thickness of 50 inches in Verhieb . The mined coal was at this time through the shaft Crone of colliery Friedrichsfeld promoted . In 1853 the mine was demonstrably in operation. Promotion and workforce

The coal mined at the Christiana colliery was strongly baking and could be used for the piling . The first known production figures of the mine come from the year 1841, 29,952 bushels of hard coal were produced . The first known workforce at the mine dates back to 1842, when 32 miners were employed in the mine, who produced 21,306 Prussian tons . In 1845 49,108 bushels of hard coal were mined. The workforce fluctuated this year between 12 and 20 miners. In 1847, 13 to 21 miners extracted 80,167 bushels of hard coal. In 1855, 27 miners produced 12,546¼ tons of coal from Prussia. These were the last known production and workforce figures for the mine.
