action

The focus of the documentary is on the experiences of eight schools that are on the way from half-day to full-day school . The difficulties and hurdles that have to be overcome are not left out, but rather, combined with the solutions that everyone involved in the implementation process must develop, are brought to the center of attention. The documentation shows different school types from all over Germany as well as bound and open all-day models in different process stages.

background

Since 2003, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research has been supporting the federal states in setting up and expanding all-day schools to meet needs with the “Future Education and Care” (IZBB) investment program. In this context, around 5,800 schools across Germany have taken or registered appropriate measures.
