The Zeller Berg or Zellerberg is 597 m above sea level. A. high mountain in Kufstein in Tyrol , which rises around 100 meters above the valley floor. It is 42 meters higher than the fortress mountain. It is located in the Zell district , directly on the Inn .
In the Middle Ages there were plans that a fortress parallel to the Kufstein Fortress , which is only a few hundred meters away on the other bank, should be built on the rock . These plans were never put into practice, and so only a very small weir system was built on the little mountain, which had long been dismantled.
Since the mountain is right next to the ÖBB route in Kufstein, the route has to be protected from falling rocks and trees again and again.
The Zellerberg was not incorporated into Kufstein until July 1947, after it had previously belonged to the neighboring village of Langkampfen . For this, Kufstein had to give the Pfrillsee area back to Langkampfen, which was later incorporated again. Originally the municipality wanted to incorporate the area up to the Stimmersee , but this requirement was not enforced. Therefore, Morsbach , to whose - Kufstein - cadastral area also the Zellerberg belongs, is today in both communities.
There is a sporty forest mile on the Zellerberg .
