The Pendling is a 1563 m above sea level. A. high mountain and popular hiking destination in the Brandenberg Alps . It forms the municipal boundary between Langkampfen and Thiersee and is Kufstein's local mountain .
Below the Pendlings lie on the Inn valley side of Stimmersee and on the Thierseetal side also Thiersee lake called. The summit view extends from the Kaiser Mountains , Kitzbühel Alps , Hohe Tauern and Zillertal Alps to the Inn Valley . The Pendlinghaus (also known as the Kufsteiner Haus) , which is served privately, is located on the summit - the two summit crosses can be reached in a few minutes on foot via a path. From the Pendling you can walk the grassy ridge high above the Inn Valley via Höhlenstein, Köglhörndl and Hundsalmjoch to Buchacker .
The Pendling belongs to the tectonic unit of the Lech Valley cover .
Accesses
- On foot from the north: 1.5 hours from the parking lot at Gasthof Schneeberg above Mitterland (Thiersee) (designated footpath as a shortcut to the forest road).
- On foot from the south: 3 hours from the Stimmersee over the Dreibrunnenjoch.
- From Vorderthiersee over the Dreibrunnenjoch.
- From Hinterthiersee over the Höhlenstein with deep views from the ridge into the Inn Valley.
- The forest road from Gasthof Schneeberg via the “Kala-Alm” snack station to the Kufsteiner Haus is a popular mountain bike route. In winter, the road to the Kala Alm serves as a toboggan run.
