Zeno Giacomuzzi

Zeno Giacomuzzi (born April 20, 1932 in Neumarkt ) is a South Tyrolean politician.

Life

Giacomuzzi moved to St. Andrä with his mother and siblings in 1939 after the death of his father . After graduating from high school, he completed a degree in trade and economics at the University of Florence . From 1962 to 1969 he was president of the spa administration in Brixen and from 1970 to 1977 of the regional tourist office. From 1980 he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Volksbank Brixen, which was merged into the Südtiroler Volksbank in 1992, and from 1987 onwards he headed the regional association of South Tyrolean cable car companies.

Giacomuzzi was politically active in the South Tyrolean People's Party . From 1969 to 1988 he was mayor of the city of Brixen. In 1988 he was able to win a mandate for the South Tyrolean Parliament and thus at the same time for the Regional Council Trentino-South Tyrol , of which he was a member until 1993. From 1989 to 1994 he was also a member of the regional government .

For his services, Giacomuzzi was awarded the Decoration of Honor of the State of Tyrol and honorary citizenship of the city of Brixen.
